Step 1
Use fishing rods with a float or wire. The diameter of the line should be 0.15-0.2 mm, the diameter of the wire should be 0.1 mm. Choose weights 0, 25-0, 5 g. In some cases it is allowed to use bottom fishing rods, fly fishing tackle is rarely effective. Hooks # 2, 5 and 3, 5 are preferred.
Step 2
In the spring-summer season, rudd reacts to worms in any form: whole and crushed. Live worms, lumps of algae, maggot, caddis larvae, beetles are suitable for complementary foods and hooks. In the fall, additionally use bloodworms, clam meat, insect balls rolled up in clay and sand.
Step 3
The rudd quickly grabs the bait in the form of a worm. Having swallowed it, she instantly goes under the water and a little to the side. Make a small sweep: the hook will pierce the lip of the fish. If you cut too sharply, you risk tearing your lips and missing prey.
Step 4
If you use a bottom line with a sinker, catching after the bite is possible, but rarely brings results. It should be wide, not too strong. Catch the moment when the line stretches, loosen and tightens again. The fish at this moment has already grabbed the bait, has slightly risen, loosening the tension of the line and is trying to eat without letting it out of its mouth.
Step 5
In winter, catching rudd is best from late morning (9-10 hours) to mid-day (14-15 hours). Pre-make groundbait from bloodworms. The weather is sunny, calm, slightly frosty. Use a short rod with spools, the float should be very light. Use the sinker only in case of current.
