Knitting is a creative and rewarding activity. Knitted items are always eye-catching. At the heart of each product is a diagram that describes the drawing and the work itself. Now you can find many ready-made knitting patterns in books, magazines, on the Internet. But it is much more interesting to create your own unique scheme.
It is necessary
checkered sheet or graph paper, pencil, eraser, yarn, knitting tools
Instructions
Step 1
Take as a basis any drawing you like or come up with your own. Then start drawing it on a piece of notebook paper in a box, or even better, if it is graph paper. Thanks to the cells, you can more accurately transfer or enlarge the image, if necessary. One box will represent one loop. Later, using such a graphic scheme, you can easily follow the pattern while knitting. Enter a legend for the loops (schematic legend), immediately indicating the explanation of all these icons. Then you do not have to remember what a particular symbol means, and you do not get confused.
Step 2
Next, draw a grid of the size you need, number the columns and rows. If you want to indicate the purl rows on the diagram, then designate them with numbers to the left of it in the case of knitting in straight and reverse rows and to the right of the diagram for circular knitting. Then mark the boundaries of the rapport, that is, the loops repeating in the same row. As a rule, brackets or asterisks are used for this, which are placed at the beginning and at the end of repeated elements.
Step 3
In the event that the number of loops in your pattern changes from row to row, then leave empty cells in the picture or paint in a dark color, and then, when knitting, you will skip them. But do not forget to indicate this in the legend. These cells will help you align the diagram and make it more visual and intuitive.
