I invite you to remember the past and plunge into the old days, that is, make a handicraft from birch bark with your own hands. We will make a shuffle - this is a kind of old rattle, which is also used as a talisman.
It is necessary

Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to do to make this craft is to steam the birch bark. By the way, it does not need to be plucked from the tree, birch bark from firewood is quite suitable. To steam our working material, you need to pour a little water into the pan, boil it, and then lower the birch bark there.
Step 2
Cover the pot with a lid and let it sweat in it. After a couple of minutes, take out one piece of bark. It needs to be cut into several strips, they are called stripes. The surface of the scars obtained should be cleaned of the upper layers of the bark. This is easily done with a simple knife. Do this with all the pieces of birch bark.
Step 3
In order for the strips to be even more elastic, you need to thoroughly lubricate them with vegetable oil, and on both sides. To make a shuffle, you need 6 stripes of the same size. In order for our working material to keep its shape better in the future, we need to twist the edges of the birch bark to the middle.
Step 4
Let's start making a shuffle. To do this, take two strips and attach them to each other so that their curled edges are inside.
Step 5
Then take two more stripes and apply them so that the ends of the first two birch barks are closed. Do not worry that such a structure will disintegrate. It is strong enough due to the fact that the strips are twisted.
Step 6
The next two strips of birch bark need to close the ends of the previous ones. Then take the awl and use it to gently pull out the curled edges of the first pair of strips.
Step 7
It remains only to pour peas into the product. To do this, just bend one of the edges of the bites and, accordingly, put a few peas in the craft. The birch bark shark is ready! If you want to use it as a talisman, then you need to fix the thread on it.
