3 years is a special age for each child. The main character traits are already manifesting, it is already possible to distinguish what the baby is inclined to and what he is fond of. But there are a number of skills that are important for all children. Drawing also belongs to them.

Step 1
It is best if a child by the age of 3 is already well acquainted with this type of creativity as drawing. Teachers say that it is possible to acquaint a baby with a pencil (or better with a bright felt-tip pen) starting from six months. Moreover, it is advisable to immediately unobtrusively show how to hold the pencil correctly.
A child at this age is very fond of touching, smearing, rubbing, so he will surely be delighted with finger paints. You should not skimp on paper - you can buy several sheets of Whatman paper or get old wallpaper to provide the baby with a lot of space for creativity. You can also buy whiteboards with markers that can be easily erased with a regular rag.
Step 2
At about 1, 5 years old, start teaching your baby to draw straight lines and then the simplest geometric shapes - a circle, a square, a triangle. Try to conduct all training in a playful way. For example, do not just draw straight lines, but grass blades, raindrops, not just a circle, but a sun, a bun. The child will be interested and the learning process will be very effective. First, gently guide your baby's hand with your hand. Gradually, the baby will learn to draw lines on his own.
Don't forget about coloring pages. For many children, their interest in drawing begins with them.
Step 3
Children love different "techniques" of drawing. The simplest thing is to blot the paint brush onto the paper. Thus, you can draw rain, flower petals, rays of the sun, leaves on trees, fish and much more.
Step 4
Most often, children paint with watercolors and gouache. But it should be borne in mind that gouache gives brighter colors than watercolor, so many kids love gouache more. Do not impose on your child how to draw. Even if your child is always limited to one ballpoint pen, it means that he needs it. Of course, it is necessary to acquaint the kid with new opportunities and techniques, but this must be done delicately, in a fun way.
Step 5
If by the age of three the baby is not yet familiar with drawing, do not be upset. It is still possible to make up for lost time. You need to start everything with the same simple straight lines and simple shapes. Get ready that for a long time you will definitely need to draw with your baby, or at least sit next to him. An idyllic picture, when a child sits at his table and peacefully quietly draws another masterpiece, will not be soon, only after the kid has firmly mastered the basic skills.
