Today, a great variety of different toys are sold, including soft ones. But there are never many of them. And most of all, children adore those of them, in the manufacture of which they themselves were directly involved. Therefore, it is better to sew soft toys with your own hands.
It is necessary
- - fabric (fur, drape, corduroy, chintz, leather, etc.);
- - printed material (cotton wool, holofiber, synthetic winterizer, etc.);
- - paper (cardboard, tracing paper, etc.);
- - sewing threads of different colors;
- - needles with a large eye;
- - scissors;
- - buttons, beads of different colors;
- - aluminum wire;
- - ballpoint pen, simple pencil;
- - braid.
Instructions
Step 1
Find patterns of soft toys in a magazine, book, or the Internet. For a start, choose a simpler little animal with a small number of elements. Take tracing paper, attach it to the pattern image and circle all the details with a ballpoint pen. Then cut them out. Now start making patterns. To do this, circle all the details on the cardboard and also use scissors.
Step 2
Soft toys are sewn both from fur and from other materials that do not split the edges: drape, corduroy, etc. Find material for making soft crafts. Flip the material over to the left side, circle each component part. Cut, stepping back from the edge of half a centimeter - this is the indent on the seam.
Step 3
Making soft toys requires the ability to properly stitch the required parts. For example, instead of a cute four-legged friend, you can get a two-legged one-eared dog. Therefore, first of all, find in the details 2 halves of the toy and the abdomen. Fold the belly down along the middle. Now take one half of the future toy, connect with one lobe of the abdomen with the front sides to each other and sew them together with a "back needle" seam.
Step 4
Do not forget that the second half of the abdomen must be sewn in the same way to the second part of the animal to get four legs. Also take the forehead of the toy, bend it in half lengthwise, attach one half to the first part of the animal's head, the front side to the front, and sew. Also sew the rest of the forehead to the second part of the head.
Step 5
When the volumetric components are ready, sew the two halves of the toy together with the right sides. Leave a slit on the head - 3 cm. Through it, turn the toy from the inside out to the right side so that the seams are not visible. To do this, you can use a simple pencil. Small details - ears, tail or horns - are sewn in the same way, so that they can be turned out later.
Step 6
In order for the toy to have stability, thread a frame made of thin aluminum wire into the legs or even into the neck, if it is long. Then stuff the animal with soft material: cotton wool, padding polyester or holofiber using a pencil.
Step 7
Now carefully sew the hole with an inner blind stitch, sew on small parts. Sew the nose from a round piece of leather or fabric, stitching it along the edge with a basting stitch, then pulling it into a ball. Fill it with padding. Sew on matching buttons or beads instead of eyes. Or glue the fabric eyes with an applique. If necessary, decorate some parts of the toy with fur, and make antennae from threads.
