There is, perhaps, no such woman who would not love bags. They say that a woman's handbag is a whole world; it will always contain the most necessary and most unexpected thing for this place. But sometimes it can be very difficult to choose a bag for any outfit or occasion. Then fabric, a sewing machine and your imagination can come to your aid.

Instructions

Step 1

First, think over your bag, and then sketch it in all the details. You must be clear about what you want to get in the end and constantly keep this image in front of your eyes. If you want, you can change or add something at any time - this is a creative process!

Step 2

Decide what material you will be sewing the bag from. Remember that it is very difficult to work with leather on your own, it is too dense, and not every sewing machine is capable of stitching it. Corduroy, tweed, raincoat fabric, cotton fabrics, velor, denim and other dense fabrics are most often used for homemade bags. Thinner materials can be used for summer bags.

Step 3

For finishing, use both dense and thin fabrics, combine them - this way you can get very interesting combinations. For the lining, it is better to purchase a special lining fabric, the color of which may match the color of the bag, or may be contrasting.

Step 4

Now make a pattern. Each bag should have sides, bottom and handles. Pockets and other decorative items can be added if desired. Choose the shape of your future bag - square, rectangular, round, oval. For the first two types, make a pattern for two walls, and cut out the bottom along them. For a round and oval bag, you should first cut out the bottom, and the walls will be a strip of fabric rolled into a cylinder.

Step 5

When making patterns, it is better to immediately make allowances for the seams, they should be 1-2 cm.

Step 6

Cut out the handle. The handle should be a strip of fabric of the correct length and width. Keep in mind that it will still need to be sewn into the bag, so leave allowances for the seams.

Step 7

Cut out the patterns for the bag without taking into account the seam allowances - the patterns are simply sewn along the edge.

Step 8

Cut out the lining. It will consist of the same parts as the bag itself - the walls and the bottom.

Step 9

Now transfer all your patterns to the fabric, securing the patterns with safety pins. Use chalk to outline the details. Cut out all the parts and start assembling.

Step 10

Sew bag parts and lining parts separately. If the bag has a drawing, then sew it on first, and then start assembling. After all the parts of the bag are ready, start connecting them. Sew them along the top edge of the bag. The lining and top of the bag can be joined with a non-woven fabric to prevent the lining from dangling.

Step 11

After you have connected all the parts, sew in the clasp. It can be a button, a zipper, laces - whatever your imagination is enough for.
