It is necessary

  • - plane;
  • - wooden blanks (blanks from any wood, including plywood, can be used);
  • - paper;
  • - scissors;
  • - knife;
  • - pencil;
  • - file;
  • - sandpaper;
  • - enamel;
  • - varnish.

Instructions

Step 1

Decide on the type and type of propeller blades. Prepare all the necessary materials, note that ordinary plastic or thick paper (cardboard) can be used to make the blades.

Step 2

Process the prepared blanks so that their thickness is precisely calculated and matches the thickness of the blades required for your aircraft. So, if you take wood blanks, then, accordingly, it needs to be adjusted in thickness using a special grinder. If cardboard or plastic is taken, you can fasten the plates (glue) together, if their thickness is not enough for your device, etc.

Step 3

Draw the appearance of your blades, having calculated all the dimensions in advance, on paper. Remember, it is not worth taking blades for constructing a propeller for a simple toy over 1 meter in size. Cut the blades out of paper.

Step 4

Attach the prepared template to the material from which the blades will be made, and circle carefully exactly with the contour. Cut out the blades according to the markings and give the blanks the desired shape.

Step 5

Polish the prepared parts with sandpaper and a file. Bringing the profile to the required section, do not forget to control the balance of the screw.

Step 6

Cover the blades with enamel (2-3 coats) and let dry. Then apply the two-component parquet lacquer in one layer and leave the paddles to dry again. Connect the blades to each other.

Step 7

Attach the propeller to the engine flywheel with four bolts. When doing this, do not forget to put wooden spacers reinforced with sheet steel. The propeller is ready, the aircraft can be prepared for launch.
