The cockerel is one of the favorite heroes of children's fairy tales, so it will be very interesting for children to make it. The most accessible material is paper, especially since you can make a beautiful panel from it, and a volumetric figurine of a cockerel using the origami technique.
Origami cockerel
The figurine of this poultry can be folded from a sheet of paper using the origami technique. Take a square piece of paper. Very interesting and unusual cockerels are obtained from special plain paper for scrapbooking in a bright color, for example, red, blue or orange.
Mark the center line. To do this, bend the square diagonally, carefully iron the fold, then unfold the sheet. Bend 2 opposite corners to the marked line. Turn the workpiece over and fold it in half along the marked line.
You will get a figurine that resembles an airplane.
Bend part of the sheet to the beginning of the folded triangle in half so that the cut coincides with the line of the larger triangle, then unfold it. A clear line should appear.
Divide the plane of the greater part into 3 approximately equal segments. Connect the end of the first third by matching the fold line of the triangle. Then unfold it.
Shape the rooster's neck. Bend the larger part along the outlined line inward, while supporting the lower part of the rooster with your hand. Make the tail of the bird. To do this, turn the smaller triangle outward along the marked line.
For the wings, peel back the top layer of paper construction from the corner of the piece to the base of the neck on both sides.
Make a cockerel head. Bend the neck inward to the base of the body. Bend the part, not reaching the body a couple of millimeters. Bend and bend inside the structure along the marked line. Likewise, make a beak by folding the paper into the head part, leaving a small corner.
Turn the structure over with your lower body towards you. Tuck in the sharp corners of the part on both sides so that the cock can stand firmly on the surface.
Quilling Applique
It will be interesting to make a bright fake with the children at home - a great activity for the whole family for a couple of evenings. To create an applique, you will need:
- thick colored paper;
- a simple pencil;
- scissors;
- PVA glue;
- markers.
Draw the outline of the rooster on a piece of cardboard, draw the details. You can transfer the outline of a drawing from a children's coloring to a sheet using carbon paper.
From colored paper, cut strips 0.5-0.7 mm wide. There is one condition - try to make the cuts as even as possible. Wind the strips onto the pencil.
Pour some PVA glue into a saucer. Then lower one side of the prepared parts into the resulting puddle and glue it to the desired place.
To make the wings and tail, twist the paper strip spiral. Apply glue to one cut and apply clearly along the line of the feathers. Small details: beak, eyes, claws and spurs on the paws of the cockerel draw with felt-tip pens.
From a few small circles of red color, you can make a comb and a cockerel's beard. Make the feathers on the head and body from circles of different colors.
In a similar technique, you can make not only a panel, but also a paper mask for a rooster costume.
