There are several ways to update an old lampshade. One of them is to crochet it. A lampshade like this, in a vintage or modern style, will brighten the room and make it more comfortable.
It is necessary
- - 100-200 g of cotton yarn;

Instructions
Step 1
Measure the circumference of the shade at the top of the shade. Choose a motif for knitting a napkin or tablecloth. Draw or print a knitting pattern.
Step 2
Draw a circle in the center of the lampshade diagram, the radius of which is equal to the radius of the upper part of the lampshade. Tie a chain of stitches. Then knit in a circle according to the napkin pattern.
Step 3
It is also convenient to knit a lampshade from individual motifs, which can then be joined together with single crochet columns.
Step 4
Dip the finished knitted fabric into a starch solution. Dilute a spoonful of starch in a glass of cold water and pour it gently into boiling water in a thin stream. Dip the canvas into this solution. Slide over the shade frame, straighten and let dry.
Step 5
Another way to give strength to the knitted fabric is to apply PVA glue on it. To do this, it must also be dipped in glue, put on the frame, straightened and dried.
Step 6
The fabric can also be knitted, and the yarn can be either thin or thick. Find the right spoke number. Usually yarn manufacturers indicate it on the skein packaging.
Step 7
Measure the circumference of the top and bottom of the shade frame and build a pattern. It will be a trapezoid.
Step 8
Tie the sample with threads and knitting needles with which you will knit the product and calculate the number of loops for the first typesetting row. Also calculate the number of increases for your pattern.
Step 9
Next, tie the canvas. Knitting can be absolutely any braids, plaits, fancy pattern. Anything you like.
Step 10
Sew a side seam. If you knitted from cotton yarn, then the fabric will also need to be starch, as indicated in step # 4.
Step 11
Now you can decorate the lampshade. Tie a ribbon at the top. Sew a fringe to match the lampshade along the bottom edge. Decorate the canvas with beads, rhinestones or artificial flowers. Glue them with a hot glue gun.
