If you are tired of the lampshade of your table lamp or gaps appear on it, it can be easily repaired and decorated at the same time.

So, any simple lampshade is easy to decorate or repair in such a simple way. For a fabric lampshade, you will need a few ribbons of different (or the same) colors and widths, as well as fabric glue (or thread to match). If your lampshade is made of paper, satin ribbons can also be used, but you can replace them with scrapbooking tape (look at craft stores for scotch tape that has a variety of thick or translucent designs and patterns).

What are we doing? Remove the lampshade (most often for this you need to unscrew the light bulb and unscrew the plastic ring from the holder). Measure the lampshade and cut the ribbons into lengths one and a half centimeters larger than the girth of the lampshade. Glue the ribbons parallel to each other on the lampshade, gently lay the tips on top of each other and tuck the outer one. According to your taste and desire (as well as the number of ribbons), choose whether to stick them closely or at some distance from each other. If the fabric of the lampshade is dense, the ribbons can be sewn with threads in color or with any contrasting decorative stitches.

Helpful advice: if your lampshade is not in the shape of a cylinder or parallelepiped, but cone-shaped, then the ribbons will not lie exactly horizontally. In this case, they can be glued or sewn vertically. You can also choose a more difficult option - cross the ribbons.

If you have a paper lampshade, you can also tape it over with ribbons, but you can also use decorative (with patterns) tape.

Helpful hint: if your satin ribbons have been lying around for a while and are crumpled, iron them first.
