When choosing a snowboard, one of the main parameters is the size. The size of a snowboard is its length from nose to tail. A simplified option for choosing a board is its length to the chin. But weight plays a much larger role than height. The stability of the athlete when skating depends on this.
It is necessary

- - calculator.
Instructions
Step 1
To begin with, determine the base size of the snowboard according to certain formulas. They help to calculate the optimal length of the snowboard for riding at medium speed on small slopes, so other factors should be considered when choosing a snowboard. For men and women, the basic size is determined according to different calculations. To calculate the size for the men's board, multiply your weight in kilograms by 0.3 and add 136 centimeters. The size for women is determined as follows: the woman's weight is multiplied by 0, 4 and 127 centimeters are added.
Step 2
If you want to determine the base size of a snowboard, keep in mind that it is determined for riding on well-groomed slopes, so if you are going to ride on less prepared snowboard places, then add 2-3 cm to the base size. The size of the snowboard also depends on the place where you are going to go for a drive. If you are planning to go to the mountains, then add 6-9 cm. When riding small slides, you can subtract 1-2 cm. If you are going to go to the park, then subtract 3-4 cm.
Step 3
When choosing the length of your snowboard, remember that it also depends on your physique. If you are a thin person, then add 2 cm to the base size. If you have excess weight, subtract 2 cm. Skating experience is also important. Beginners should additionally subtract 2 cm. And with a large foot size (for example, 45th), it is better to choose a wide board for a snowboard (Wide). They are usually marked with the letter "W".
