Ruling is needed not only for making a template, on which transparent sheets are then applied. To sign a postcard beautifully, you also need a ruler. Its standard method, in which points are put at equal intervals on the sheet with the help of a ruler and a pencil on the left and right, does not exclude errors. And the result doesn't look so neat. Shining through the sheet and the template from below with a lamp is laborious and not suitable for cardboard. Therefore, we will choose a different path.
It is necessary
- - graph paper
- - ruler
- - paper clips
- - thick needle
Instructions
Step 1
Base on graph paper. The base is the sheet that needs to be lined. The graph paper must be laid down so that it is visible to the left and right of the base. And below and above, the base and graph paper should be the same length.
Step 2
Secure both layers with paper clips. It is convenient to place them at the bottom and top. Use paper clips that will not scratch or dent the substrate.
Step 3
Mark the starting points. These are two points on graph paper - to the left and to the right of the base. A ruler will be attached to them. The starting points can be positioned at the same level, then the ruled will be horizontal. If the sheet needs to be lined at an angle, for example, to sign a postcard, then the starting points should be marked at different levels.
Step 4
Mark all other points. Walk down from the starting points - left and right. Mark them not on the basis, but on graph paper. Do this at regular intervals. Thus, you can lined the sheet as you like - after 1 centimeter or less. If necessary, an indent of 2-3 millimeters can be made between the main lines. In this case, plan in advance what kind of ruling you need and put points at the appropriate distances.
Step 5
Line the sheet. Apply a ruler to the corresponding points and draw a thin line with a pencil. If ruled on a postcard, use a thick gypsy needle instead of a pencil. Then the lines do not have to be erased. Press the needle gently and slide it at an angle. The lines will be almost invisible. Everyone will be surprised how you managed to sign the postcard with amazing accuracy.
