It is necessary

  • - polymer clay Fimo;
  • - sculpting board;
  • - oven;
  • - glass pan.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose the right material. Polymer clay from Fimo is perhaps one of the most famous types of plastic. There are several types of Fimo. This Fimo classic is a rather tough material, but after firing it becomes strong and holds its shape remarkably.

Step 2

Another type is called Fimo soft. It is very soft and plastic, so children like to sculpt from it. However, this clay is not suitable for creating small details.

Step 3

Fimo Liquid Deko Gel - liquid plastic, adhesive. It can be used to hold multiple layers together. Liquid polymer clay can be mixed with oil paints and used as a kind of enamel by covering the product with this composition. It can also be mixed with a variety of pigments.

Step 4

Bake the Fimo in the oven on a metal baking sheet or in a glass saucepan. Place the sculpted product in an already preheated oven. Fimo's manufacturers recommend baking plastic at 110 degrees, but the product will be much stronger if done at 130-140 degrees.

Step 5

When baked, plastic can give off toxic substances with an unpleasant odor. To avoid this, cover the container with a glass lid, and if you bake directly on a metal baking sheet, then the figurine can be covered with a regular glass jar.

Step 6

Bake small pieces such as beads for 15 minutes. The larger the item, the longer it takes to bake. The average time for large figures is 30 minutes.

Step 7

If you are making a complex figure, for example a doll, then bake the small details first: eyes, lips, hair, and so on. Then attach them to your head and bake again. Next, attach the head to the body and bake the entire figure completely.

Step 8

Another way to create a complex figurine. Sculpt all the pieces separately, apply Fimo Liquid Deko Gel (liquid polymer clay) to them, connect and bake the figure again completely.
