Modeling figures from snow is a fascinating and interesting pastime. The best time for this is early spring, when the snow is sticky and sticks together well. But with the same success, you can sculpt figures from snow at other times of winter. The main thing is that there is enough snow.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, decide on the direction of making the figure. There are two main methods - molding from wet snow and cutting from a prepared form. Pick a spot that has the most snow. Along with this, the most important condition is that the snow must be clean.
Step 2
When creating a figure using the sculpting method, it is worth preparing a bucket of warm water and rubber gloves with warm filler. You can also choose gloves one or two sizes larger and wear them over warm gloves. The best option is to buy gloves sold in specialty shops for fishermen - they are very durable and can be used at low temperatures.
Step 3
If the snow is sticky enough, sculpt the figure as if you were sculpting from plasticine, running wet gloves along the joints of the figure. In order for the figure to be more stable, systematically run gloves, poured with water, over the surface - this will contribute to faster glaciation. If the snow is not sticky, but crumbly, use more water. After forming the main silhouette, start cutting out the details. For this, it is best to use a plastic shovel - it has parameters sufficient for cutting snow and at the same time is absolutely safe.
Step 4
When cutting from a prepared form, you will need a box made of plywood or reinforced cardboard. The box must have removable walls, while at the same time it must withstand significant internal pressure. Place the box in the snow, then fill it all the way to the top. Tamp the snow and add more until it is full as a result of tamping. Remove the box and, if necessary, make the second "floor", the third and so on. After that, you can start cutting out the shape. Strengthen those parts that seem fragile to you by lightly rubbing them with wet gloves. When finished, sweep the surface of the figure with gloves soaked in water to give the structure the best stability.
