Modern craftswomen rarely embroider with a cross or satin stitch, brighter, more spectacular and original hobbies come into fashion. Diamond painting is rapidly gaining popularity - it is a mixture of embroidery, designer and mosaic. As a result, the paintings are simply exclusive, they sparkle and shimmer like precious, although their cost is sometimes even less than that of floss sets.
Diamond paintings are a set for needlework, which includes: a checkered pattern with the designation of colors, rhinestones of different shades, a sticky fabric base, tweezers, small scissors for separating individual rhinestones, a pencil for working with especially small round stones.
As a rule, rhinestones are placed "with a margin" so that there are no problems with the layout of the mosaic, since some of them may one way or another end up with a marriage. In fact, the stones are made of plastic by stamping, with a diamond cut - due to which they shimmer and shine beautifully.
Diamond paintings, or, in other words, Diamond Painting, require at least several days to make. This is painstaking work that needs to be performed in a specific sequence, the process can be facilitated by some tricks.
How to make a diamond painting
- Open bags with rhinestones and arrange them in containers
- Cut off a piece of film and start laying out in rows. It is better not to remove the entire film at once, otherwise it can attract dust to itself and the rhinestones will hold on worse.
- Rhinestones are laid out with tweezers, as close to each other as possible.
- Since there are defective rhinestones in the sets, you should start the picture from the center or bright accents - so that not too beautiful rhinestones remain for the background.
- When the picture is ready, you need to stretch it on the frame, fixing the edges. It is best to cover the front side with glass for preservation, although it will hide some of the shine and iridescence.
Diamond embroidery kits can be found in exclusive gift shops or ordered online. Almost all kits that can be found are from Chinese manufacturers, so there is no point in overpaying for packaging and maintenance in an expensive store. The most interesting thing is that some manufacturers are ready to make sets according to the customer's photos - you just need to send them a high-resolution photo and receive the finished diamond mosaic set by mail. This is simply the best gift for those who love handicrafts, even some men are happy to collect such "puzzles".
