Summer or winter wardrobe is very easy and simple to diversify if you sew a four-piece skirt. Of course, you can sew something more interesting and unusual, but this particular style of skirt is easy to cut, but fits well on any figure. Trends change, but classics are forever!
This style is good because you can sew this skirt of any length - from mini to maxi, depending on your desire, the procedure will not change.
As the name suggests, this skirt consists of four panels-wedges. It is better to sew it from a fabric that easily folds, for example, silk, chiffon, fine wool.
To build a pattern, you will need the following measurements: waist, hips and the vertical distance between these measurements, as well as the length of the skirt.
On a large sheet of paper (tracing paper, whatman paper, on several glued newspapers) we build a pattern, where ab = a quarter of the waist, rd = a quarter of the hips, a = the distance between the levels at which you measured the waist and hips, e = length of the product.
Do not forget to draw a smooth bend where the dotted line is in the figure, otherwise the bottom of the skirt will look sloppy. From point b to straight line a, the shortest distance should be about 1-2 cm (depending on your size), a similar distance at the hem is about 4 cm.
Note that the arrow shows the direction of the common thread as usual.
How much fabric you need depends on its width, but most likely not less than two lengths of the finished skirt. Also buy a zipper in the color of the fabric.
When cutting, keep in mind that about 1 cm should be left for the seams, and a table for the hem of the bottom. Do not forget to cut out a belt, the length of which should be 4-5 cm more than the waist, and the width should be twice the desired width of the finished skirt belt (2-5 cm).
The sewing process is simple - we sew wedges together, sew a zipper into the side, sew on a belt, hem the bottom of the skirt. Previously, the details can be connected with a zizgaz stitch so that the fabric does not crumble.
