Instructions
Step 1
Cut out the details for the pillow. For the upper side of the pillow: 5 squares measuring 21.5 * 21.5 cm in brown tweed, 4 squares with a side of 21.5 cm in tartan.
Step 2
For the underside of the product, prepare 2 pieces of 30.5 * 58.5 cm from brown tweed. When cutting all components of the product, allowances for seams with a width of 1.25 cm should be taken into account. Lay out the elements, alternating in color, chop together.
Step 3
Sew the 3 squares on the top side first, creating the first strip. Press all seams through the damp cloth from the wrong side. Similarly, reproduce the second and third stripes from the contrasting details.
Step 4
Next, pin with English needles or join two strips by sewing. Check if the pattern is aligned correctly. Next, attach the third link, smooth out the seams.
Step 5
Baste the fringes over the large square you created, folding them right together. Better to start sewing on the fringe from the middle of one side, with the seam allowances facing outward.
Step 6
Align the ends of the fringe and cut the edges at the corners so that the piece is flat. Cut out 2 blanks for the back of the pillow measuring 30.5 * 58.5 cm.
Step 7
Insert the zipper. First, measure and mark with the zipper the exact length of the future fastener. Aligning the workpieces face to face, sew a seam at both ends, stepping back from the edge 1, 25 cm.
Step 8
Iron the allowances along the cut. Flip over to the front and, holding the zipper from the inside, pin it with the front side under the edge of the cut. Make sure the edges of the cut line up exactly.
Step 9
Use the zipper foot to stitch around the zipper. Sew the top and bottom sides of the pillow together, right sides inward, by stitching around the edge of the pillow and touching all layers.
Step 10
Stitch the ends of the fringe with a seam allowance to sweep the seam to avoid fraying at the edges.
Step 11
Turning the product right out, fill with a pen or holofiber.
