Advertising annoys many Counter Strike users. Fortunately, the problem of getting rid of intrusive advertisements can be solved by standard means of the system without involving additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" item. Expand the Accessories link and launch the Windows Explorer application. Open the folder where the Counter Strike game files are saved and find the game configuration file named config.cfg in it. It is usually located in a folder named cstrike or, for Russian localization, cstrike_Russian.
Step 2
Launch the standard Notepad application and open the file found in it. Look for the line containing the unwanted ad text and delete it. Re-expand the config, cfg folder and make sure it does not include the exec line.cfg name. If there is such a line, open the file named name.cfg and delete the line with the advertisement. Go back to the cstrike.cfg or cstrike_russian.cfg folder again and apply the same procedure to the file named autoexec.cfg. Save your changes.
Step 3
Please note that all the above operations must be performed in the cstrike_Russian folder, if available. This is due to the fact that it is the config.cfg configuration file in this folder that is the executive one, in contrast to the same file in the cstrike.cfg folder, which is used only in the absence of Russian localization.
Step 4
After disabling advertising in the game, it is necessary to prohibit changing the created configuration by the Counter Strike game servers. To do this, call the context menu of the modified configuration file by right-clicking and selecting the "Properties" item. Go to the "General" tab of the dialog box that opens and apply the check box in the "Read-only" line in the "Attributes" section at the bottom of the window. Save your changes by clicking OK. This action will make it impossible to change the selected file.
