The history of tilde dolls and other toys is only 15 years old. In 1999, their creator Tony Finnager from Norway first presented to the public cute toys in soft pastel colors, which are now popular all over the world. Tilde hearts have become very famous and beloved - they are loved for their simplicity, charm and ease of manufacture.
Selection of materials
Many needlewomen often forget about the main distinguishing features of tilde toys. The fact is that initially these were only dolls with a light coffee, "tan" skin tone and pastel-colored clothes. Too bright, catchy fabrics and decorative elements, of course, are also suitable, but will deprive the toy of its delicate charm.
So choose fabric in soothing soft pastel shades.
For decoration, it is best to use lace and rough materials such as twine, which give the toys extra charm.
Manufacturing process
So, to make tilde hearts you will need:
- cotton or linen fabric of light shades;
- heart pattern;
- decorative elements (ribbons, twine, beads, etc.);
- decorative napkins (napkins for decoupage are suitable);
- PVA glue or special for decoupage;
- a needle, thread, scissors;
- synthetic winterizer for filling.
First, transfer the heart pattern to the fabric, leaving seam allowances, cut and sew, leaving holes for turning. Then turn the blanks out to the front side, fill them with padding polyester and carefully sew them up.
If you put a flavoring agent, for example, coffee, cinnamon, dried flowers, etc., in the heart with the filler, you get an excellent sachet. It can be hung in your closet to scent your clothes.
In principle, at this stage, the heart can be considered ready, it can be decorated with braid, beads, an eyelet can be attached so that it can be hung - that's all.
But you can make it more interesting. Take napkins for decoupage or simple ones with a pattern (in this case, only the top layer is needed). Attach the designs to the hearts and smooth with a damp brush, avoiding wrinkles. Then add a drop of special decoupage glue or regular PVA and smooth.
This tilde heart will be a great gift for your loved ones on March 8 or February 14. Making them is quite simple, and besides, it is a much more pleasant gift than purchased cheap postcards and scented candles.
After a couple of hours, when the hearts are completely dry, you can finish the work, or you can tint the hearts with strong coffee.
After that, decorate them with decorative elements and you're done.
