The fur coat loses its attractive appearance when scuffs appear and the fur thinns along the bottom. You can get rid of these shortcomings at home by shortening the length of the fur coat.
It is necessary
Fine needle, scalpel or sharp blade, single-eye pins, ruler, fine chalk, thread, lining scissors
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the desired length. To do this, put on a fur coat, button up and bend the fur coat, securing the hem with pins. Assess the new length carefully. Remember that the cut part cannot be returned to its original place. If you're ready for a change, get to work.
Step 2
Place the fur coat on a table or large flat surface and spread it out. To get started, you must first peel off the lining from the fur coat. Measure the amount of fold. On the inside of the fur, at the desired distance from the hem of the hem, make a few frequent chalk marks. Use a ruler to connect the marks with a straight line - this will be the new hem of the fur coat. Take a scalpel or sharp blade. Holding the hem of the hem in one hand, pulling it slightly, use a scalpel to carefully cut along the line marked with a small line. You only need to cut through the base of the fur - the flesh. After trimming with a damp hand, run along the new edge and pick up any fur hairs caught under the sharp blade.
Step 3
Hem the fur coat at the same distance from the edge using a fine needle and color-matched thread. While hemming, lightly pierce the base of the fur with a needle. The lining also needs to be shortened. Repeat with the lining all the steps that were taken when trimming the fur. But use a traditional cutting tool - scissors to trim the fabric. Try on a fur coat. Ask for help in determining the length of the lining so that it does not peek out from under the fur coat. Fold in the lining, trim the edge and attach it to the fur coat.
