Every artist (at least in his heart) knows exactly what his ideal sketchbook should be. So that the search for such in reality does not take too long, make the perfect album with your own hands.
It is necessary
Paper, cardboard, fabric, PVA glue, thread, gypsy needle
Instructions
Step 1
Choose paper for the scrapbook depending on the material you will be painting with.
Step 2
Fold the sheets in a pile, step back from the edge 1 cm (on the side where the spine will be) and draw a line. Mark on it the places of the holes for stitching: they should be located at the same distance from each other, not too rarely so that the album does not fall apart. Punch holes with an awl.
Step 3
Coat the side of the stack of sheets with PVA glue on which the spine will be located. Place the paper under the press for a couple of hours.
Step 4
Take the Gypsy Waxed Thread Needle. The threads should match the style of the album and not be too thin (otherwise they will cut the paper). If there is no waxed thread, take another one and treat it with hard wax. Sew the block of paper with a regular needle-forward stitch.
Step 5
Cut out a rectangle from thick paper, the width of which is equal to the thickness of the album (+2 cm should be folded and glued to the first and last pages), and the height - the height of the sheets. Stick this strip on the spine - it will protect it from quick wear.
Step 6
Cut out parts equal to the size of the album from thick cardboard. Cover them with decorative paper or cloth. Glue these covers to the first and last sheets of the album.
Step 7
To prevent the album from opening unnecessarily, attach an elastic band to it. To do this, cut two holes about 3 cm from the top and bottom edges of the back cover before you stick it on. Insert an elastic band into them, fix its ends with glue. After that, glue the cover to the last sheet of the album.
