Today, hand-made things and gifts are very popular. The stores have a wide selection of ready-made kits for creativity, but how nice it is to come up with and find parts for crafts yourself. For example, turn an old tin can into a sea pencil.
It is necessary
- - Empty jar,
- - plasticine of the required color,
- - seashells, glass pieces, small stones, colored sand
- - varnish
Instructions
Step 1
Take any empty jar. This can be a canned food can, a coffee can, or an unusual glass container. The main criterion for selection is the ability to put pencils in the jar.
Step 2
Match the color of the plasticine to the shells or pebbles. With a layer of the same thickness, apply plasticine to the entire surface of the jar. The layer should not be very thin. This is the basis for gluing seashells.
Step 3
If your shells are large, then pre-decorate the jar with sand so that there are no plasticine gaps. To do this, sprinkle the sand on paper and gently roll the jar over it.
Step 4
Pick up seashells, small stones and glass polished by the sea. If there are no shells, you can use flat stones of different shades. Place them carefully on a plasticine layer, pressing lightly against the jar. You can lay out a kind of mosaic or the name of a child from shells.
Step 5
After all the large parts have covered the surface of the can, you can fill in the gaps with small pebbles or colored sand.
Step 6
Cover the finished product with varnish. This will keep your pencil holder dry and prevent the mosaic from crumbling. You can use a brush or sponge to apply varnish. It is better to work with varnish in a well-ventilated area or outdoors.
Step 7
Leave the pencil holder until the varnish is completely dry. After a couple of days, the smell of varnish will disappear, and you can present it or put it on the baby's desktop.
