Ilya Muromets is a legendary epic hero. It is unknown if he actually existed. And, of course, it is impossible to recreate its true appearance. But the great Russian artists, by the power of their skill, make one believe that Ilya Muromets looked exactly as they depicted. And when someone hears the name of the famous hero, these images, familiar from childhood, appear before their eyes.
It is necessary
Paper, pencil, paints, brush, carbon paper, paper clips, reproduction of a painting depicting Ilya Muromets
Instructions
Step 1
First, select the image of Ilya Muromets, which is closer to you. The most famous paintings with him were painted by Viktor Vasnetsov, Nicholas Roerich, Evgeny Shitikov, Ivan Bilibin. The image of the hero from the cartoon "Ilya Muromets and Nightingale the Robber" is also very popular. But this character is protected by a patent, and copying his image may lead to a conflict with the copyright holder.
Step 2
If you have enough artistic skills, then just try to sketch a hero from a reproduction of the original. Of course, you are unlikely to repeat the picture in oil, but by simplifying the colors a little and stylizing the outline, you will get a completely recognizable image.
Step 3
If you are inexperienced in drawing, transfer the drawing using carbon paper. To do this, put a carbon copy on a blank sheet (after checking which of its sides leaves a trace), and above the image of Ilya Muromets. Fasten all this together with clamps so that the drawing does not "slide" to the side during the translation process. Draw a line around the drawing. It is best to use a simple pencil for this, since the trace from it will allow you to control the process of work, and then it will be easily erased. When you have finished translating the drawing, disassemble the structure and circle the trail from the carbon copy again to make it clearer.
Now paint the hero with paints and add a background.
Step 4
Unfortunately, with the disappearance of typewriters, carbon paper has become difficult to find. Use the proven "childish" method. Translate the drawing with glass.
For these purposes, artists use a special backlit table. If you have such a device, then you are in luck, because it is much easier to work on a horizontal surface than on a vertical one.
Staple a blank sheet of paper over the drawing. Pressing the papers against the glass (it should be light outside the window), you will see how the drawing shines through the top sheet. Draw a line around the drawing. Disassemble the structure. The sketch is ready, you can color.
Step 5
If you are not satisfied with the size of the image and want to increase it, do so using the markup. Divide the drawing into squares with horizontal and vertical lines drawn at the same distance.
Next, choose a piece of paper that suits you in size. Divide it into the same number of squares. Naturally, the grid on this sheet will have larger cells.
Now transfer the picture square by square. That is, copy the contents of the first top cell of the original picture into the first top cell of the created one, increasing proportionally. Relying on such a grid, you can easily transfer the image of Ilya Muromets even onto a sheet of Whatman paper.
After that, fill the drawing with paints in accordance with the original image.
