In order to depict any animal, it is enough to master the technique of drawing with ovals. These auxiliary elements correspond to each part of the beast's body. After creating a sketch, it is necessary to supplement the drawing with details typical for representatives of this particular type of animal.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - the pencils;
- - eraser.
Instructions
Step 1
Imagine the animal you want to portray. Select its body parts: torso, head, front and hind legs, tail.
Step 2
Begin your drawing with a picture of auxiliary parts. Outline the head and body of the animal in the form of ovals of different sizes. Draw sausage-like details for the legs and tail. Pay attention to two points. First, place the oval corresponding to the head at some distance from the body, while taking into account how long the animal's neck is. For example, differences in the position of the head of a crocodile and a giraffe can be seen with the naked eye. Secondly, try to maintain proportions between body parts. For example, the legs of a cheetah are longer than the limbs of a lion, although both animals belong to the same family.
Step 3
Draw the outlines of the animal based on the auxiliary details. Try not to press down on the pencil so that the connecting lines are light and easy to fix.
Step 4
Start drawing. Start with the face of the beast. Reflect characteristic features such as the length of the nose, the width of the muzzle, the location of the eyes (in front or on the sides of the head), the position of the ears, and the presence of "wings" on the sides of the mouth. Also mark areas of special vegetation on the animal's face, if any. They are usually located on the crown, back of the head, behind the ears. In some cases, animals have a kind of beard. Don't forget to draw horns or fangs if your species has one.
Step 5
Highlight the characteristic features of the animal's body structure. If necessary, add a powerful nape like a bison, humps like a camel, make the body lean or give it gracefulness like a panther. Remember how your body is positioned. For example, due to the fact that the front limbs of the wildebeest are longer than the hind limbs, the body is located not parallel to the ground, but at an angle. Draw the areas of the body covered with longer hair.
Step 6
Draw the paws of the animal. Consider the position of the top relative to the bottom. In some animals, the joints on the hind limbs are clearly visible, they are, as it were, curved back. Don't forget the part that matches the foot and toes. Keep in mind that some animals may have their toes turned in the opposite direction or have different lengths. For example, the two front toes of a wolf grow on the outstretched part of the paw, the rest on the sides, while in dogs all the fingers originate approximately on the same line.
Step 7
Don't forget the tail of the beast. It can be very different in shape, and also be devoid of hair or ends with a brush.
Step 8
Reflect the light and dark areas on the animal's body in a pencil sketch. This is important when depicting animals such as cheetahs, zebras or giraffes.
Step 9
Erase construction lines.
