Traits are the main components of a Sim's personality in The Sims 3. Traits are what determine a character's abilities, behavior, and desires. They can be changed both in game ways and using cheat codes.
Instructions
Step 1
There are 63 character traits in the main game. Each add-on added a certain number of new traits, so that in the end, if you play the version with all the addons and catalogs, you can find in the game 116 regular traits already open and 25 hidden ones.
Step 2
There are four main categories of personality traits - Communication, Intelligence, Lifestyle, and Physical. For example, the Daredevil or Technophobe traits are in the Lifestyle category, while the Friendly or Detonating traits are in the Communication category. The more character traits a character has, the more complex and interesting the spectrum of his behavior.
Step 3
When creating a character, the player can choose up to five character traits for young, adult and older characters. Traits can be inherited through genetics from parents. Babies and toddlers receive two traits, if the child is raised correctly, then as he grows up, the player can choose the third, fourth and fifth character traits, but if the growing process is on its own, the traits are assigned randomly, and most often they cannot be attributed to positive …
Step 4
The University add-on allowed for additional character traits, increasing their number to seven. While studying at the university, character traits can be earned in two ways - to graduate from a faculty or university, the slot of the trait obtained in this way will have a red border, or to reach the eighth level in a certain social group ("Nerds", "Athletes", "Rebels"), a slot the line thus obtained will have a yellow border.
Step 5
You can use the Midlife Crisis reward, which can be purchased for Happiness Points, to change character traits through play. This reward allows you to completely change your Sim's personality.
Step 6
If your character has a sufficiently high level of alchemy skill, you can try to create the "Character Changer" potion, which changes one trait, or the "Powerful Character Changer", which allows you to change all the traits.
Step 7
If you don't want to mess around with changing character traits in game methods, you can use developer codes. To do this, call the console by pressing the key combination ctrl + shift + c, in the command line that appears, type TestingCheatsEnabled true. After that, just hold down the shift key and click on the sim whose character you want to change. In the menu that appears, select the line "Change the character of the selected character."
