To beat an opponent at checkers, it is necessary to understand the goal of the game - to arrange the checkers in such a way that they do not interfere with the opponent's good moves, but at the same time cover his pieces so that he cannot make the next moves without losing.
Instructions
Step 1
The first moves are the most important to the game and often determine the outcome. Look in advance at the location of the checkers on the board, mentally changing their place depending on your planned move. Try to understand your opponent's play. Put yourself in his shoes and make the best move from your point of view. Your opponent will probably do the same. You can predict the course of the game several moves ahead. Winning in checkers depends, of course, on the order of moves of each particular game, but there are some tips that will allow you to always remain the winner.
Step 2
Keeping checkers in the center of the playing field is the most advantageous position for moving forward and also a way to avoid blocking by the opponent.
Step 3
Try not to move the last two rows from the bottom, unless you have to beat the opponent's checker. If it's time for you to move checkers from the second row, use the second checker on the left for this. This strategy has been tried many times, use it.
Step 4
Try not to move the bottom row of shapes as long as possible. If the turn has reached the bottom row, first go with the extreme left, and then with the next checker behind it.
Step 5
Make sure that each of your moves achieves two goals at once: out of 2 possible options for the opponent's next move, each would lead to the loss of his checker.
Step 6
During the exchange, try to take middle positions on the field and push the opponent's checkers to the edges of the field. If your pieces are off the edge of the playing field, try to return them to the center.
Step 7
Finally, always keep an eye on the position of the checkers after the planned move, so as not to give the enemy the opportunity to beat 2 of your checkers at the same time.
Step 8
Keep in mind that players with a lot of checkers only win when they are in an advantageous position. Therefore, try to either beat the opponent's checker during the game, or at least close it for further moves.
