In 2013, the horror genre was dominated by cheap camcorder horror films with rather well-worn plots and directors positioning their work as a departure from the traditional system. The quality of last year's horror films left much to be desired, as did the acting. In 2014, new films should be released that can improve the situation.

"Stricken"
A film by Canadian filmmakers Derek Lee and Cliff Prowes, who played themselves in it. In the story, Derek has a mysterious brain disease that does not prevent him from going with his friend Cliff on a journey across 6 continents. For a while, everything goes well, and Derek, taking advantage of pity for his position, successfully “cadres” the girls. But at a certain moment, Cliff finds his friend unconscious, just cuts and realizes that the girl he was with has disappeared without a trace. Derek's wounds are healing, he gets worse, but his strength grows. The film is sustained in a fantasy-horror theme and has a rather original plot.
"Stage fright"
Slasher slasher film by Canadian director Jerome Sable, which takes place in the theater. The theater troupe is preparing a new musical for the premiere, unaware that a fierce maniac who fiercely hates this genre has already opened a hunt for them. As in any slasher movie, a sea of blood and dismemberment with musical elements is expected, as well as the presence of rocker Meat Loaf and Oscar nominee Minnie Driver in the film.
"Deliver us from the evil one"
The new film directed by Scott Derrickson, directed "Sinister" and the sequel to the legendary "HellRaisers" called "Inferno". The plot of the film tells about the devilry associated with the commission of especially grave crimes, happening in a provincial small town. The officer conducting the investigation, on the advice of a local priest, has to arm himself with holy water and a crucifix, and engage in a bloody battle with the demons flooding the town.
Jezabel
The film tells how a girl who has lost her entire family in a car accident, is confined to a wheelchair and lives on her father's estate, finds her mother's recordings containing gloomy predictions. The film was filmed by the innovative director and editor Kevin Grothert, who independently directed the 6th and 7th parts of Saw.

"Paranormal Activity 5"
Another part of the adventures of home video lovers who constantly stumble upon the mysterious, scary and unknown. Sadly, but with the release of each next part, the quality drops lower and lower, the effect and plot of the first part have been lost for a long time. About the new part is unknown so far nothing remains, only hopes that this time the story will still receive a worthy continuation and come out in a new interesting direction.
"Report 4: Apocalypse"
Continuation of the "Reportage" franchise, the first part of which was filmed by the talented Spanish horror maker Jaume Balaguero. After the release of rather unsuccessful sequels and remakes, the creator of the original "Report" decided to take the steering wheel into his own hands, which gives hope for a worthy sequel. In the fourth "reportage" the heroine of the first part, journalist Angela Vidal, who survived in a zombie anthill, is quarantined by the military at their base at sea. Payback for such carelessness will not be long in coming.
"The ABC of Death 2"
The creators of the failed and criticized international horror movie "ABC of Death", in spite of everything, decided to shoot a sequel. Many new ideas are promised, more blood, trash and cruelty.
"Operation" Dead Snow "2"
The sequel to the Scandinavian comedy zombie horror starring the Nazis. Martin, the only surviving hero from the first part, manages to get to civilization. But in the confusion, he forgot about the coin given to him by his beloved Hannah. The coin is part of a Nazi treasure, and even dead fascists will come for their treasures.
