Chiffon - from the French "rag" - delicate, light silk fabric, translucent, suitable for sewing various types of clothing: trousers, skirts, blouses, dresses, shawls, scarves, etc. Due to its lightness, the processing of fabric requires special attention and varies depending on the model of clothing.
Instructions
Step 1
Before making a long skirt "in a straight line", first process the chiffon cuts with an overlock or a large zigzag stitch (first sew, then fold and sew again to make it look more like an overlock). Short skirts, regardless of cut, can be hemmed in the same way.
Step 2
The long skirt is obliquely processed with a small zigzag stitch. The hem will become slightly wavy.
Step 3
Treat the fluffy skirt around the edges first with an overlock, and then with an oblique inlay. The chiffon will gain some weight, stop gathering and bullying.
Step 4
The wavy fabric will make the processing in a small "zigzag", while threading the fishing line along the seam. When sewing in correctly, the line should not be caught by the needle and pierced by the thread.
Step 5
Shirts and blouses are processed with an overlock seam and double hemming.
