You can make graceful painted glasses with your own hands. In addition to the fact that this activity is very exciting, it can also keep the whole family busy. A large selection of paints for glass and ready-made stencils can help in this endeavor.
It is necessary
- - Glasses made of transparent glass;
- - stained glass paints;
- - contours;
- - acrylic paints for glass and ceramics;
- - brushes;
- - cotton swabs and blade;
- - a cloth or napkins;
- - palette;
- - alcohol or dishwashing liquid.
Instructions
Step 1
Degrease the glass surface. To do this, it is enough to rinse them with any dishwashing liquid or wipe them with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol or vodka.
Step 2
Spread a thick towel on the table so you can lay the glass on its side and not break it on a hard surface. When working with paints, place the objects to be applied horizontally so that there are no smudges.
Step 3
Prepare your palette. You can buy it, or you can adapt a piece of laminated cardboard or a piece of plastic panel for this purpose. These surfaces will not absorb paint, making it easy to mix to achieve the desired shade. Place cotton swabs, a cloth, and a jar of water nearby to rinse the brush.
Step 4
Think over the sketch of the future drawing. You can use a ready-made template. It is enough to cut it out and place it inside the glass, attaching it with tape. If you want to use a picture from a magazine or a postcard, then place the picture in your field of vision.
Step 5
Draw out the outlines of your drawing. When working with stained glass paints, squeeze the contour lines out of a special tube with a narrow nose. Each part of the drawing should be closed so that the paint does not spill out or mix. Do not turn the glass until the outline is dry. If the drawing is disturbed, then gently wipe it with a cotton swab. Or dry completely and scrape off excess with a blade or the tip of a knife.
Step 6
Wipe the tip of the contoured tube on a napkin if excess ink has accumulated on it. Inchaye, the extruded strip will be uneven and ruin the pattern. Dry the outline completely and pour inside the patterns with stained glass paint from tubes, checking the colors with the picture. Paint over the drawing gradually, letting each element dry.
Step 7
If you paint with acrylic paints for glass, then they are thick enough and do not creep over the surface of the product. Paint the glass as if you were drawing on paper, letting the individual elements of the drawing dry out and turning the product in different directions. In this case, the contour can be applied to an already finished picture in order to emphasize individual details, or it is possible not to apply it.
Step 8
Wash ready-made glasses with a soft sponge and do not rub with dry cleaning agents.
