A rosebud is a symbol of beauty, love and virginity, and a wilted flower speaks of the short duration of earthly blessings. Artificial roses made from silk fabric can often be seen at a craft or sewing supply store. It is quite possible to make such beauty on your own.
The first way
To create a rose from silk fabric, you will need to purchase silk fabric, scissors, threads to match the material and a needle. It is necessary to cut out a strip along the oblique, the length of which is 30 cm, and the width is in the border from 10 to 11 cm. Then the strip is folded in half so that the wrong side is inside. As a result, you should get a rectangle 5 by 30 cm.
After that, a weakened machine stitch must be sewn from the fold of the fabric. In this case, you need to leave an allowance of 0.6 cm from the cut of the fabric. The corners of the workpiece need to be slightly rounded. Then the line should go through long cuts and end at the opposite fold of the fabric.
The allowances at the corners need to be trimmed. After that, you get a figure that resembles an ellipse. Then pull off the bobbin thread of the machine stitch. The strip is collected from 10 to 15 cm long.
Next, you need to form a rosebud. To do this, you need to hold the allowances with one hand, and with the other, twist a strip of silk around in a spiral. When the bud is ready, the allowances are secured with a glue gun or a regular needle.
For the leaves, a satin ribbon is ideal, which can be tied with a bow. The satin fabric will be replaced by a decorative cord or a piece of a sewn bias tape. Then you need to attach a pin to the allowances of the bud. The silk fabric rose is ready.
Flowers of this kind will look gorgeous if made from translucent fabric. For example, organza, chiffon, micro veils, etc. It is worth remembering that the height of the rosebud will be half as much if the width of the strip of fabric is very small.
Second way
To make a rose from silk, you need 90 cm of ribbon or fabric, the width of which is 6.5 cm. First, it is folded in half so that the edge is adjacent to the edge and the front side is out.
Next, the thread is threaded into the needle, the tape is sewn from the fold line to the folded edge. Initially, the stitches should be made at a 45 degree angle, but in line. Then you should basting along the edge.
The line of stitches must be continued to the end of the tape, and then to the upper opposite corner. The ends of the thread are left free. Then you need to pull on one end of the thread and assemble the tape along the entire length.
In the next step, the tape is wrapped once to form a central bud, which is secured with a couple of stitches. After that, the ribbon is twisted around the resulting bud.
Moreover, each turn along the basting line and above is fixed closer to the center. When the rose is created, the end of the ribbon is secured with thread so that the stitches are not visible.
