Parachute translated from French means "to prevent falling". Today we will deal with this, we will prevent the fall. We will tinker with 3 types of parachutes: smoothly descending downward, another can be launched upward with a pistol, and the third will be launched using a special launching device. Let's get started! Follow our step by step instructions.
Instructions
Step 1
The first type of parachute.
Cut a square out of tissue paper. Glue a thread into each corner of the square; this is easy to do using glue and a small piece of paper. Tie all four threads into a knot near the end. Tie a small square made of cardboard to the ends of the threads. Fold the parachute into a square by folding it in half and again in half. Now throw the parachute up, and it will open smoothly down.
Step 2
Parachute, in the form of an umbrella.
Take a stick about 30 cm long and 5-8 mm in diameter. Measure one third of the stick from the top end and tape it over with a paper ring in this place. Make another similar ring, but it should move up and down along the stick. Glue strings, threads, or thin strips of paper to the second ring. Glue the ring over again so that the glued threads hold better. Make a parachute hat (circle) using paper or lightweight fabric such as silk. Take a small pin and attach the center of the cap (paper or cloth) to the top end of the stick. Attach the cables (threads, paper strips) to the head, distributing them around its circumference.
Now throw the parachute up, it will close. But when he goes down, the hat will open and he will slowly go down. You can launch such a parachute upward with a bow or a slingshot.
Step 3
Parachute with a propeller. To make it, you will need: an old nylon stocking, a meter of thin steel wire and some simple soft wire.
Bend the steel wire in half, and arch each of the bent halves in the same way as the cat's back. Make a hook at one end of the bent wire. Wrap a simple soft wire around the ends of the wire, the winding height should be about 5-6 cm. Leave the hook unwrapped. Tie the curved part of the wire "cat's back" with a stocking. Your parachute is ready, it remains only to make a special launching device for it, a sling.
Take a wooden rod 10 - 12 cm long (this will be the handle of the sling). Drill a small hole at one end of the rod and thread an elastic band through it. The elastic will need to be quite thick, about 3-5 mm. wide.
To launch the parachute, stretch the hook from the wire into the elastic, pull on the sling and release the parachute. When falling, the parachute will spread its wings and, while rotating, will slowly descend.
