Carp are caught with a variety of tackle and almost any bait: from a worm to a special dough from a fishing store. Carp is an omnivorous fish, it feeds on food of animal and plant origin.
Carp is a large freshwater fish that is a species of carp. Despite the fact that carp is omnivorous and undemanding to living conditions, it is not easy to catch it. This fish has good hearing and a keen sense of smell, it is shy and cautious.
Carp lives in rivers, lakes and reservoirs. He usually inhabits areas of water bodies with a weak current and prefers places with a hard clay bottom. Also carp is found in some rivers flowing into the Black Sea.
Carp bait
When choosing a bait, it is necessary to take into account the seasonal feeding habits of carp. In the summer months, it is better to use plant-based bait: corn, canned peas, pieces of boiled potatoes. Also in summer, carp bite well on bread, wheat porridge and barley. In addition, boilies give a good result - these are balls made from a mixture of plant ingredients and porridge.
In spring and autumn, carp bite well on earthworms, bloodworms, maggots, various larvae and boiled shrimp meat. In winter, carp, unlike other fish, continues to actively feed. Fans of winter fishing usually catch it with spinners, bait fish, jigs and worms. You can also buy protein dough in fishing shops, which is a good bait; carp bite the dough most actively at the end of winter.
Tackle for carp fishing
Carp can be caught with a donk, a fishing rod or feeder tackle. As for float rods, it is better to use rigid models, as the rod can break during jerking when playing fish.
A rod with a length of four to six meters, equipped with a light spinning reel, is best suited. It is very important for the reel to have a friction brake with high sensitivity.
The line should be strong and dull, for example, a dull greenish line will do. The breaking load must be at least four kilograms. For carp fishing, both mono and braid are suitable.
Any shape of the float can be used, however, thin-tipped floats are more sensitive so you can notice the bite earlier. It should be borne in mind that a bright float can scare off carp.
It is better to choose hooks with a short shank. Hook size according to international numbering No. 8-10. If you go to a body of water where large carp live, then it is better to use larger hooks, for example, No. 12-14.
