In order for a dress or blouse to fit well on the figure, support large breasts or give volume to small ones, you need foam rubber cups with silicone or other tabs. If the model does not provide for wearing a bra, then you can sew the cups right into the dress.

It is necessary

  • - lining fabric;
  • - bodice cups;
  • - pins;
  • - chalk or pencil;
  • - scissors;
  • - sewing machine;
  • - needle;
  • - threads.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a lining fabric - it can be a cotton jersey of a suitable color or the main fabric of a dress. Adhesive fabric works very well, it will fix the position of the cups as tightly as possible. Cut out the bodice lining in the same patterns as the top. It is to this lining that the cups will be sewn from the inside.

Step 2

Attach the cups to the inside of the bodice of the lining and mark where the corners should be, measure the symmetry of the position. Use only chalk or instant pencil, note that plain pencil may not wash off white fabrics.

Step 3

Pin the cups with pins. Place the correct size apples or lemons inside to make the cups fit properly.

Step 4

If possible, immediately attach the bodice to the chest and check the correct position, distance between them, freedom of movement.

Step 5

Baste parts by hand to the seam allowances at the bottom and top edges. Remember to secure the ends.

Step 6

Sew the cups to the lining in a wide zigzag. To make the seam even, sew from the side of the fabric, defining the edge of the cups by touch and basting.

Step 7

Try on the resulting detail. If the fabric of the lining is stretching too much, bridge the padding between the cups. To do this, take an elastic band or a strip of lace, measure the required length and fasten it on both cups.

Step 8

In case the dress model is too loose and the cups move freely, fasten them additionally at the back, like a bra. Cut strips of the desired length from elastic or elastic fabric, sew several hooks at the end. In this case, the part of the lining should allow the fastener to be freely fastened at the back, so it can be sewn, for example, only along the top.

Step 9

Sew the lining to the dress or blouse in the usual way, to the armhole, neckline and other standard seams. In this case, the cups will be from the inside and will be completely invisible.
