Self-presentation is important in all areas of life. And if in most cases it happens involuntarily or without preparation, then at various competitions you can show the audience and the jury a previously created "portrait". Depending on the direction of the competition, you can choose one of several options for presenting yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are participating in a serious scientific competition, a creative approach to drawing up your "business card" is unlikely to be appropriate. Therefore, at such an event, limit yourself to a simple introduction - say your first and last name, tell about your specialty and specialization related to the topic of the competition. Indicate your merits in this field of activity - participation in various projects, scientific publications, speaking at conferences. At the same time, indicate the points of the biography that are really significant. Ask the organizers of the competition in advance how much time is allotted for the presentation of the participant and make sure that your presentation fits within the specified framework. During your speech, speak in a friendly but moderate manner, without arrogance, but with dignity.
Step 2
At a competition that is not so serious, creative, allowing for a comic performance, you can use the technique of comic exaggeration. Exaggerate your strengths in the story about yourself. To make it clear that this is a comic form, you can combine exaggeration with one small detail of your activity. For example, at a handicraft competition, you can say: “Lidia Ivanova. Knows everything about buttons. It will determine the sample produced in 1978 by touch”. Combine your listing of your strengths with the traditional vocabulary of skill (honored worker, master, expert, etc.).
Step 3
Use forms and patterns typical of cinematography and literature to present yourself with humor. In this case, video presentations or slideshows will look especially impressive. For example, you can compose a "business card" in the style of a detective: show on the screen photo or video fragments that will mysteriously play out individual details of your activity, and only at the end you will get a complete portrait from all the prompts.
Step 4
Involve experts in the creation of self-presentation. This is especially important when working with video, sounds, photos. Mistakes can negate the effect of even the cleverest performance. Also make sure that you are proficient in public speaking skills if you are going to make a speech in the competition by introducing yourself. Write any text, even the shortest and simplest, in advance and practice pronouncing it in front of the mirror and in public.
