Stone is one of the most difficult materials to process, requiring the utmost care, attention and great experience when working. The processing technique consists in the fact that the stone must be cut in a certain way, polished, giving it the required shape, and polished to a mirror shine.

Instructions

Step 1

The stone is cut on the machine with special diamond saws or diamond wheels. There are craftsmen who can independently assemble a cutting and grinding machine based on an electric drilling device or an electric sharpener.

Step 2

When cutting, feed the stone along the guide bar, i.e. towards the rotation of the cutting wheel. Adjust the position of the plank according to the thickness of the stone slab you are going to cut. To cool the circle, serve water using a piece of foam rubber soaked in water. Hold the foam with your left hand and feed the stone with your right hand.

Step 3

Hold large stones with both hands, and gently press the stone together with the foam rubber to the tool. To prevent the stone to wag when cutting, cut off the edge beforehand to obtain a stable surface. Or place the stone in a cardboard box, fill it with cement mortar and, after complete hardening, cut the stone along with the cement base. When finished cutting, carefully remove the cement.

Step 4

If the size of the stone to be cut is larger than the diameter of the cutting tool, cut it from three sides, and drive one wedge of thin steel plates into each cut slot. Hit the wedges carefully and break the stone.

Step 5

If you need to cut a cracked stone, glue it with epoxy glue before cutting. Dry the stone before gluing so that there is no water in the cracks. Heat the stone over an electric stove and then chill it a little. Apply epoxy to the cracks. Since the stone is still hot, it penetrates deeper and hardens faster. After drying, the stone becomes quite durable. It could be cut safely into thin plates.
