Knitting machines of the "Neva" series are sometimes real rarities, but they still work. If you spend a little time learning how to work with it, you can please the whole family with warm and cozy clothes with beautiful and neat knitting, which you will never get on the needles.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting work, fasten the knitting machine tightly to the table so that it does not slip. This will ensure the smooth running of the carriage without jerking.
Step 2
Start by looking at your knitting machine. Clean with a stiff brush from dust and lint. Examine for rust. If necessary, sand and wipe with an oiled cloth.
Step 3
Examine the needles - they should not be bent. Replace the bent ones with new ones. Make sure the tongues of the needles open and close smoothly and freely, otherwise the thread on this needle will constantly break.
Step 4
Now check the knitting machine is working. To do this, place the carriage on the rails and move it from side to side. Extend the needles to the working position (halfway) and move the carriage again. It should move smoothly, without jerking or jamming.
Step 5
If the machine works, feel free to add thread. For a set of loops of the first row, you just need to wind the thread around the needles in one layer, clinging it from the bottom to the plates. If you have a thread tensioner, insert the end of the thread coming from the ball between the caps. Make sure the tongues of the needles are covered. Set the knitting density to a number from 4 to 6 to start.
Step 6
Now you need to knit a row, for this, slide the carriage towards the skein with a smooth movement. You will have the needles in the working position - half extended, and the tabs are open. The previous row is under the tabs. Place the thread in the hook of the needles, fix the thread on the thread tensioner and run the carriage again.
Step 7
Watch the last stitch in the row. Due to the loosening of the thread tension, the thread may not be tied. If this happens, knit it by hand: pull the needle as far forward as possible so that the loop of the previous row slides under the tongue, then put the thread in the hook and push the needle in, letting the loop of the previous row slide down. To prevent non-tying, adjust both thread tensioners with the adjuster.
Step 8
Work several rows to master the basic smooth knit technique. Now your possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
