It is easy to knit a sports hat that will come in handy on a cold winter day on a ski trip or on an ice rink. It can be made from high-quality yarn and with the pattern that the owner likes, in addition, it will cost less than buying a ready-made one. In short, it's worth trying.

It is necessary

  • - 50 g of gray yarn;
  • - the remains of yellow yarn;
  • - knitting needles number 3, 75.

Instructions

Step 1

Take yarn from a mixture of cotton (55%) with acrylic (45%), it will be warm, practical and beautiful. Tie the pattern for knitting density: cast on 20 loops and knit 30 rows with the front satin stitch (front row - front, purl - purl), you should get a 10 by 10 cm square.

Step 2

Cast on 96 loops of gray yarn on the needles and knit with an elastic band (front 2, purl 2) nine rows, then with front satin stitch. In the tenth row from the elastic, start performing the smiley pattern with yellow yarn: knit six loops with yellow yarn in the middle of the canvas, in the next row - eight loops over six (two loops plus left and right), in the third row knit over the last two loops of eight two loops each plus one protruding left and right, knit the central six loops with gray yarn.

Step 3

In the next fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh rows, knit two loops with yellow yarn to the left and right of the yellow loops, building them over the last yellow in the previous row. In the seventh row, add another yellow loop, you get three on each side, but not next to two, I am through one gray (on the right side - to the right, on the left - to the left). In the eighth row, tie three yellow loops on the right and left, placing them above the last in the main line, above the gray, and above the yellow one, which was tied separately from the two yellow ones, through the gray.

Step 4

In the ninth row, knit two yellow loops on the right and left along the main line, placing them above the three yellow loops in the previous row (above the third yellow one on the right on the right side and likewise on the left knit the gray one). In the tenth row, also tie two yellows on the right and left, above the yellow in the previous row, moving one loop to the left on the right side and to the right on the left. You should have a yellow smiley arc.

Step 5

Knit four rows of gray yarn, then knit the eyes of the smiley: the first row - two yellow loops, the second, third and fourth - four yellow loops (one protrudes left and right above two), the fifth row - two yellow loops (exactly above two in the first row). Leave between the "eyes" a distance of six gray loops (three to the right and left from the center of the picture).

Step 6

Start decreasing the loops at the same time as the beginning of the pattern: in the 13th row from the elastic, decrease 6 loops, knitting 3-4, 14-16, 31-32, 59-60, 75-78, 89-90 loops together. In the 19th row from the elastic, subtract 6 more loops, knitting together 3-4, 17-18, 31-32, 61-62, 74-75, 88-89 loops. In the 23rd row, decrease 7 loops by knitting 3-4, 15-16, 29-30, 44-45, 57-58, 69-70, 80-81 loops together.

Step 7

Start shaping the bottom of the beanie 31 rows from the elastic. Knit every 6 and 7 sts of the front row together, then decrease, knitting decreases in the same order in each front row (you get paths). When 6 stitches remain, knit them together and secure the thread. Sew a hat, wet and dry.
