DIY things always look stylish and original. For cold seasons, knitted scarves, hats, coats, dresses and, of course, sweaters are relevant. There are many patterns and styles for knitting or crocheting various products. A sweater is a warm jacket, without fasteners and with a high collar. When performing it, it is not always easy to follow the selected instructions; it is important to take into account the quantity and quality of the yarn, its color and the sequence of work.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a yarn, it is good if it is wool, cashmere or cotton. The absence of synthetics will make wearing a sweater pleasant and will not cause allergies.
Step 2
Make up for yourself an individual pattern, for this take measurements of the width of the shoulders, the length of the sleeves, the volume of the hips and the waist. It is important to determine the height of the armholes and the depth of the neck.
Step 3
Before you knit a sweater, decide what you will wear it with. Some of the necklines allow different blouses and turtlenecks to be worn under a sweater. Particular attention should be paid to products with a hood. In this case, the back must be slightly lowered so that the hood lies flat and does not cause discomfort.
Step 4
Before doing the solid work, try to knit a sample - a small piece measuring 10x10 cm. It will help you determine the number of loops for your pattern. For example, if 16 loops go by 10 cm, then you should cast 70 loops for the width of the front 44 cm wide.
Step 5
The work should begin with knitting the back, first knit an elastic band 2-3 cm, and then proceed to the main pattern. If you find it difficult to knit with a pattern, use the front satin stitch. For this, yarn of a bright color is more suitable.
Step 6
At waist level, you should begin to decrease the fabric on both sides, one loop in every third or fourth row. Having knitted about 30 cm from the whole work, on the contrary, start adding in the same way. At the level of 35 cm for the armholes of the sleeves, close the loops with a "ladder" (for example, 6 loops in one row, 4 loops above them, and then 2 more). Do this on both sides. After knitting about another 20 cm, you will get a finished back.
Step 7
Then start knitting the front of the sweater. Do it in the same way, but take into account the neckline. Count ten middle stitches and work them with a "ladder", closing two stitches on the inside for five more rows. If your sweater has a V-neck, divide the top of the front into two halves and knit each separately, decreasing one loop on the inside. Don't forget the armholes.
Step 8
The next step will be the execution of the sleeves. Cast on the required number of loops and knit them with a basic pattern. At a height of about 10 cm, start adding one loop on both sides. After knitting another 40 cm, close each side about 6 loops. Then start decreasing one loop on each side until the sleeve length matches your measurements.
