It is necessary

  • - photo frame with glass;
  • - acrylic paints for glass and ceramics;
  • - thinner for acrylic paints;
  • - acrylic lacquer;
  • - brushes No. 2/4 and No. 6/8;
  • - volumetric acrylic contours;
  • - palette for paints;
  • - simple drawing;
  • - cotton pads;
  • - cotton swabs;
  • - cotton glove.

Instructions

Step 1

Bend the fasteners on the back of the photo frame and remove the glass. Degrease it with window cleaner or wash it with lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid and wipe it dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. You can also degrease the glass by rubbing it with alcohol. Choose a simple drawing you like from the Internet, a book, a magazine, or draw yourself. It is better that the image is large enough without small details. The drawing must fit the size of the glass from the frame.

Step 2

Prepare all work materials on a flat work surface. For acrylic paint, you will also need a jar of warm water to rinse your brushes. It is better to use a cotton pad to dry the brush after rinsing. It absorbs excess moisture well. To avoid fingerprints on the glass, put a cotton glove on the hand that will hold the glass while painting. Place the glass on top of your chosen design. Choose the optimal position of the pattern on the glass. Holding it with your hand, carefully trace the drawing with an acrylic outline. Try to keep the contour lines smooth. If you make any mistake when applying the outline or paint, correct it with a cotton swab or cotton pad slightly moistened with warm water, wait for the outline to dry, then start coloring the drawing. Use brushes # 2/4 to paint the details, brushes # 6/8 to paint the background. Before using acrylic paints, if they are packaged in cans, mix thoroughly with a plastic or wooden stick. Rinse the stick with warm water or wipe it off with a damp cotton pad or cloth. To make the paints transparent, use a special acrylic thinner.

Step 3

After finishing painting the glass, dry the paint for at least 12 hours at room temperature. Never dry the product on a battery or with a hair dryer, otherwise the paint layer may be broken and the product will be damaged. If you are applying the paint in several layers, each layer must be dried within 12 hours. Apply a thin layer of acrylic varnish to the dried drawing for additional shine and protection. Dry the product again. Rinse the brushes thoroughly with warm soapy water and dry with a cloth. Insert the painted glass into the frame.
