Instructions
Step 1
Choose a blended or woolen overcoat and lining fabric. From the top and lining fabrics, cut out two parts of the back, shelves, planks (one-piece with hem) and side. Then do two elbows and two upper sleeves, a collar and a collar stand.
Step 2
Sew the darts on the chest, press them down. Sew the strips to the shelves and iron the seams. Fold the details of the leaves face to face and sew the outer sections, slightly rounding the corners. Cut off the seam allowances as close to the stitching as possible. Turn the leaflet inside out and sew it to the shelf at the entrance to the pocket.
Step 3
Above and below the entrance to the pocket, sew a raised seam. Iron the allowances and iron the leaf to the side cut. Fold the burlap pockets with allowances for the entrances to the pocket, pin and sew at the seam of the stitching of the leaves. Press the sacks forward and stitch. Sew the edges of the leaves with blind stitches by hand.
Step 4
Sew middle, raised and shoulder seams. Unscrew the one-piece hem to the right side and stitch the back neckline. Pin the trim with a facing to the cut of the neckline and sew. Then, for a while, let them lie face-to-face on the coat.
Step 5
Sew the details of the collar to the details of the stand. Cut off the seams and iron. Stitch each piece close to the seam. Then sew the outer edges of the collar. In this case, the lower collar should be slightly narrower than the upper one so that the corners do not bulge.
Step 6
Place the collar between the coat and the hem. Sew the upper collar into the neckline of the edging, and the lower collar into the neck of the coat. Iron the allowances. Turn the piping up and sew the seam allowances close to the seams that are chipped, then turn it down.
Step 7
Stitch the details of the patch, sew the elbow and front seams of the sleeves. Sew the sleeves into the armholes and sew on the shoulder pads. Make a detail of the strap and sew it to the coat with large buttons, placing them at the ends. Sew on the lining and hem the coat.
Step 8
Sew the upper parts of the buttons on the hem of the right shelf so that no stitches are visible on the front side of the coat, and large buttons are on top of them. Sew the lower parts of the buttons onto the strip of the left shelf. Connect the ends of the pat with small buttons.
