New phenomena always arouse interest, and if you yourself participate in their creation, then it becomes much larger. It is possible to assemble a simple but working electric motor that requires a power source, magnet, and a small coil of wire.

It is necessary

Accumulator or battery 1.5V, holder with contacts, magnet, wire with enamel insulation 1 m (0.8-1 mm diameter), bare wire 0.3 m (0.8-1 mm diameter)

Instructions

Step 1

Take an AA battery. This will be the bobbin for winding the coil, which will become the rotating part of the electric motor. The coil should be round and flat, so a cylindrical frame should be used. Leave 5 cm of wire from each end, wind 15-20 skeins on the cylindrical frame. It is not necessary to wind the coil evenly and tightly, it will better retain its shape when there is a small degree of freedom.

Step 2

Carefully remove the coil from the frame, the resulting shape should be preserved. To preserve, you will need to wrap the free ends of the wire around the turns several times, it is very important that the fasteners are opposite each other.

Step 3

Remove the upper half of the insulation with a sharp knife, the lower half should remain in the enamel insulation. To do this, keeping the spool in a vertical position, place one of its free end on the edge of the table. Do the same with the other end of the coil, it is very important that both bare ends of the wire point up.

Step 4

Take an uninsulated wire, since in addition to supporting it, it must provide a flow of electric current, and make support for the coil. It will consist of its coils, on which it will hang and rotate. Wrap each piece of bare wire around a nail to create the desired engine part.

Step 5

Place a magnet on the battery, put the five pieces together and push the coil. It will start to rotate.
