Artistic composition means co-location. In order for the artist to be able to realize his artistic intention and achieve the highest expressiveness of his work, he uses special compositional principles. How can a beginner build a composition of a landscape?

It is necessary

1 Pencil - 2M-4M; 1 sheet A2 from a folder for watercolors, a soft white eraser, brushes with natural bristles from No. 1 to No. 7; watercolors or gouache paints

Instructions

Step 1

Each artist, to express the idea of the work, usually tries to maintain the harmony of the elements of the painting or the basis of the composition. Before starting to paint the painting, choose a format for it. The format can be rectangular, square, round, oval, polygonal, as well as vertical and horizontal.

Step 2

Before starting to draw the details of the picture, keep in mind that symmetry will balance the composition. Symmetry is the frame or skeleton of the painting on the basis of which the entire composition is formed. That is, imagine the rails going into the distance. It will be a small dot with progressively widening lines. All objects within this space will appear in the painting accordingly. Draw a grid of work with a pencil, according to which the whole composition will be built.

Step 3

In a landscape, as a rule, the horizon line is always present, which divides the picture into two or three unequal parts. That is, priority is given to the sky or the landscape. If you make these parts equal, they will both claim to be the first in the composition. Draw all objects in the distance smaller in size and not so bright in color. Similarly, nearby objects will be larger, sharper in shape and brighter in color.

Step 4

Start by sketching with a pencil. Having outlined the wireframe lines of the canvas, draw the most important subject of the composition. This central spot of the picture will dominate it. It can be depicted both in the background and in the near, in the center or on the edge.

Step 5

Draw the rest of the secondary objects as an addition to the main one, so that they are subordinate to the dominant or, subordinating to each other, bring their eyes to the central semantic spot of the picture. This will create a sense of integrity in the work.

Step 6

When painting your picture, keep in mind that the main focus of the picture should be highlighted in contrast. Make sure that when combining light and shade, contrast and color, the integrity of the perception of the composition of the picture is not lost. It can be concluded that the signs of composition are poise, integrity and subordination of secondary objects to the main one.
