Socks are knitted not only by grandmothers. Recently, many young and not very young ladies have been engaged in needlework. But not everyone knows the art of knitting heels on toes. And to be honest, knitting the heel on the toes is given only to those who understand the logical essence, funny as it may seem, of the heel design. Especially the double heel.
Instructions
Step 1
The idea of knitting a double heel turns out to be simple. The double heel is knitted on three needles in shortened rows. At the same time, first, the heel narrows, and then expands. The knitting pattern resembles a boomerang. So the heel is called, "boomerang". If you knit a sock on four knitting needles, then to knit the heel, so as not to dissolve the knitted fabric of the sock, fasten the loops on the second and third knitting needles with special nozzles on the knitting needles or throw them on a pin for knitting.
Step 2
Remove all loops from two knitting needles (1 and 4) on one knitting needle and knit two to four rows with the front stitch from the resulting loops. On them you will knit the heel. Divide the loops into three and remember, or better write down how many loops are on the central part of the heel, and how many are on the side.
Step 3
Knit 1st and all odd rows with front loops. Knit the 2nd and all even rows with purl loops.
Knit the 1st row with front loops.
Step 4
Start the 2nd row with a double loop: to do this, leave the thread before work, remove the loop along with the thread, and pull the thread tight so that later there are no holes in the heel. Remove the double stitch on an extra knitting needle. Knit the rest of the loops according to the pattern, i.e. purl loops
Step 5
Also start the 3rd row with a double stitch. Then remove it on the extra knitting needle. Knit the rest of the loops according to the pattern, that is, with the front loops.
Step 6
Continue to knit this way, i.e. starting with a double sang and pulling it off on an extra until you knit to the mid-heel borders. Knit two circular rows on all needles (and on those that are closed with nozzles or removed with a pin). Knit double stitches on additional knitting needles with one knit stitch.
Step 7
Now fasten half of the loops again. Divide the rest (heel) loops in accordance with the pattern of the heel. Do the "boomerang" in reverse order, double stitching in each row the last stitch on 1 and 3 needles (the first to the middle of the heel) and removing it on the center, second knitting needle.
Step 8
Knit in double stitches until all stitches are on the second knitting needle.
Then distribute all the loops on four knitting needles and continue knitting the sock in a circular fashion.
Good luck!
