There are several types and materials for making wobblers. This is a casting of a wobbler from a mixture of small sawdust and epoxy resin and production by a matrix method. These methods are good in that they make it possible to practically clone a store wobbler in the smallest detail, as well as in the case of making a wobbler from two halves (matrix method), even a noise one.

In this article, we will look at how to make a wobbler out of wood.

Required material for making a wooden wobbler:

  • a block of wood with a mild structure;
  • wire (steel, with a diameter of about 0.8 mm);
  • plastic material for the manufacture of blades (plastic stand for documents)
  • "Hardener" and epoxy;
  • lead;
  • oil paints or in cans;
  • hemp or flaxseed oil;
  • varnish;
  • sharp knife, hacksaw for metal, sandpaper, pliers and round nose pliers, paint and varnish brushes.

It is believed that the best material from which a wobbler can be made is balsa, but linden, apple, cherry and other varieties of soft woods can be used.

  1. First you need to take a small bar, cut out a drop-shaped piece and sand it with sandpaper.
  2. Cut the wobbler blank in half. Next, you need to glue the halves together with PVA glue or double-sided tape. But, you can leave the frame intact, and make an incision and pour the load into the slot.
  3. The next stage in making the bait is the ears for which the hooks will cling. It is necessary to drill small holes and insert a stainless wire previously twisted into a loop. Fill with waterproof glue or epoxy.
  4. Putty. It is necessary to heat the liquid resin to flow and fill all cavities with a viscous mixture. After the resin has completely hardened, sand the body of the wobbler again, soak it with linseed or hemp oil and, in order to increase the water resistance, cover it with varnish. After the varnish has dried, sand the body one more time.
  5. If you want to make the wobbler multi-colored, similar to factory production, then you should cover it with paint in a way convenient for you.
  6. After the paint has completely dried, put hooks on the rings, preferably factory-made.
