If you have old children's skis lying around, from which yesterday's child has long grown, then you can make light sledges of them. Due to the wide runners and low weight, it is convenient to transport goods on such sleds on rather loose snow.
It is necessary
- - old skis;
- - aluminum pipes;
- - aluminum corners;
- - bolts and screws with nuts;
- - electric drill and hacksaw for metal.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove and inspect both skis. If on one of them or on both the rear ends are broken off, it doesn't matter - the length will still be enough. Cut both skis to the same length. Based on the resulting source material, calculate the length of the body of the future sleigh.
Step 2
Take aluminum pipes from old baby carriages, clamshells - in one word: whatever is acceptable. Carefully bend two identical rounded rectangles. Height - smaller side - make 20 centimeters. Length - based on the length of the skis. In any case, 80 centimeters will be enough.
Step 3
Bring the ends of the pipes into a piece of pipe with a larger diameter, drill through and fasten with bolts and nuts. It is better to choose one of the short (they will be vertical) sides as a junction.
Step 4
Drill three through holes in each ski and the long side of the aluminum pole, one in the middle and two near the ends. Match 6 round head screws with washers and nuts. Their length should be greater than the diameter of the pipe with the thickness of the ski.
Step 5
Prepare pieces of aluminum corner with a side of at least 3 cm. Three pieces should be the same length as the planned width of the sled. Drill in the upper long side of the uprights through the hole in the middle. Drill the same holes at the top of the vertical tubes. Take the corners and drill at the edges along a hole of the same diameter. Use a hacksaw to cut a piece of the other rib to the length of the pipe diameter.
Step 6
Insert the screws from the side of the working surface of the ski and, laying washers from the side of the pipe, fasten the stands vertically with nuts. Connect with corners and bolt with nuts to the top of the racks. The horizontal edges of the corners must lie in the same plane.
Step 7
Drill through the hole in the bottom of the front and rear struts. Make holes in the middle of the front and back corners. Connect the lower ends of the uprights to the midpoints of the upper contours and bolt. You should get two rigid triangles in front and behind, which do not allow the runners to disperse.
Step 8
Make slatted flooring or lay down a sheet of multi-layer painted plywood, tie in a strong rope, and the sled is ready.
