One of the most common is a birch broom. The leaves of this tree contain a large amount of essential oils, vitamins A and C, and tannins. After steaming, birch brooms emit a pleasant and delicate aromatic smell that lasts from 5 to 7 hours on human skin.
Also, many people prefer oak brooms. The leaves of this tree contain a lot of tannins. In the bath, the oak broom will always remain moderately dry, and due to this it will not burn the body too much.
Not very popular, but well-known brooms for a bath from eucalyptus, conifers and nettles. The use and steaming of brooms has certain peculiarities.
How to steam with a broom?
It is better to take a steam bath together. The most correct body position when floating is lying on a bench. But if there is no way to lie, then sitting, raising your legs to the level of the body.
You can steam with a broom in several ways. One of them is: one person lies on the bench with his stomach, and the second begins to lightly stroke the body with a broom from head to toe. In the opposite direction, one broom strokes one side, and the other strokes the other side, then along the pelvic lateral parts, thighs of the leg and calf muscles to the feet - this should be done 3 to 4 times in a row. Then the brooms must be raised so that they capture the hot steam, and lower them on the lower back, pressing the brooms with your hands for a few seconds. Repeat the same manipulations in the area of the shoulder blades of the back and on the knee joints. Repeat the set of movements 3 to 4 times.
The next way of vaping is called quilting. This type of steaming with a broom should be performed with quick quilting movements with the end part of the bath broom. First, you need to make light strokes in all directions of the back, lower back, pelvis, thighs, calf muscles and feet, and finish with a faster stitching. This procedure should be carried out no more than one or two minutes on one side of the body and the same amount of time on the other side.
After that, you should move on to a stronger whipping in combination with a compress. You should start from the back. The broom is raised, capturing warm steam, and a few light blows are made on the back muscles, and then the broom is pressed with the hand. This should also be done all over the body, excluding the face and popliteal fossa. If it is necessary to warm up the knee joints in order to restore impaired functions or improve their elasticity, a broom is applied to them, in turn, and the legs are bent until the heel touches the pelvis.
This type of compress is very useful for muscle pain, radiculitis, trauma, myositis, etc. After the compresses I do stretching - the brooms are placed on the lower back and spread to the sides: one broom moves to the feet, the other to the head.
After vaping, rubbing is done. Pressing lightly on the foliage on the broom, rub the lower back, pelvic area and back with circular or stroked movements.
If you are in the bath without a partner, then you need to take turns to soar your legs, chest, arms, moving the broom from the hands to the shoulder joint. You can float your chest, pelvic region, and back on your own by lying on one side and then rolling over onto the other side. You need to finish vaping by rubbing.
