Acupuncture is a popular alternative medicine method that is used for a wide variety of purposes. Acupuncture treatment is used in reflexology, dermatology, to restore the work of the muscles of the head and neck. Today, acupuncture for weight loss, actively practiced by various medical centers, is also popular. To carry out this procedure, you need to know at least two things: how to place the needles and which active points can be stimulated.
Instructions
Step 1
You can buy needles at a medical store or pharmacy, or make your own. To make the needles, you need nichrome wire (an alloy of chromium and nickel). This wire is used in various technical elements. Use ordinary scissors to cut a 10 mm piece of wire. Try to cut at a 45-degree angle or even sharper. Twist a ring at one end with tweezers, and leave a free end of about 3-4 mm on the other side. Your needle is ready. Before you start working with the needle, be sure to disinfect it with alcohol.
Step 2
In the case of acupuncture in the area of the ears, rinse them with hot water and soap before starting the procedure. Pay particular attention to the places where the needles will be placed. After that, wipe the ear with alcohol, take the needle with tweezers and slowly, with small jerks, insert it at a certain point. Point the needle almost parallel to the skin, at a very sharp angle.
Step 3
Take your time, and then the procedure will be absolutely painless. If the patient does feel significant pain, leave this needle temporarily and move on to the next one. After 2-3 minutes, return to this needle and try to insert it deeper.
Step 4
The question arises as to how deeply the needles should be inserted. Do not exceed the 4 mm limit - this is the maximum. The depth is not important, it all depends on the purpose of the procedure and the desired result at the end.
Step 5
At the end of the procedure, cut out small pieces (approximately 7x7 mm) from the plaster, preferably flesh-colored, and glue all the needles. The procedure is over, you just have to wait for the result. The needles are usually left on for 2 minutes. After that, peel off the patch and take out all the needles. Be sure to throw them away, they can only be disposable. If one of the needles is causing severe pain, remove it early.
