Jim Darmusch will soon delight his fans with a new zombie comedy in a modern way. The Russian premiere of the film will take place on July 11 in the largest cinemas.
The new film "The Dead Don't Die" is definitely worthy of the attention of moviegoers. This is a mystical and enigmatic comedy with the greatest cast. There will be zombies, adventures and love in it.
Features of the picture
The main feature of the novelty is its own script from the director. Jim Darmusch has been developing his idea for a long time and promises to surprise all viewers with it. And I want to believe in this, at least after studying the composition of the actors. In the zombie movie they played at once: Bill Murray, Chloe Sevigny, Iggy Pop, Selena Gomez, Adam Driver. Interestingly, for example, Iggy Pop here will portray a creepy zombie to the delight of all fans.
The premiere of the novelty has already taken place. But only guests of the Cannes Film Festival were able to watch it back in mid-May. Now the audience froze in anticipation of the official premieres. For the United States it will be June 14, and for Russia it will be July 11.
Darmouche is an original filmmaker who works in a wide variety of genres. Jim tries his hand at shooting interesting novelties that are noticeably different from all other movies around. This time the director decided in a special way to "promote" the theme of the attack of the dead on the city. The result is a unique zombie horror. The characters there are definitely unusual, but at the same time, those who have already watched the movie without translation, note that the new product lacks action. At first, the plot strongly captures the viewer, but after about 40 minutes, the feeling begins to develop that the same thing is being repeated.
Separately, it is worth talking on the trailer. It is already available with a high-quality translation into Russian. Judging by the trailer, the picture looks more like a funny comedy - the slightly comical dead crawl out of their graves and roam the city. And the police, led by Bill Murray, are trying to resist them. Already in the trailer, you can see how many legendary stars will appear in the film. Therefore, immediately there is a desire to watch it, at least for the sake of your favorite actors.
Plot
At first glance, the plot turned out to be standard. In a small American town something strange happened - the same song began to play on the radio, the day suddenly comes in the middle of the night, and pets are trying to hide away from people's homes. Local great minds cannot explain anything. Although everyone immediately understands that the apocalypse is coming. Zombies are preparing to eat fresh meat. But the residents of the city are not ready to just become someone else's dinner. People intend to fight. And the dead, in turn, will want to turn everyone around them into their own kind.
Of course, you can't do it without the help of the police. Local law enforcement officers boldly confront the creepy dead. Not without numerous good jokes, they make the plot less stressful and help the viewer to escape from the scenes with the eating of the townspeople.
The duration of the picture turned out to be slightly more than the standard - 105 minutes. But the director defined her genre as “fantasy, horror, comedy”. You should not watch the novelty with young children, there are scenes in it that can be very scary. The official age limit for the film is 16+.
