Vladimir Kuzmin is an iconic figure on the Russian stage. Having started his musical career as an ordinary guitarist, he later took up vocals and began to write songs himself. Alla Pugacheva played a special role in the artist's life, however, even after the termination of cooperation with her theater, Vladimir Kuzmin remained in the cohort of popular performers.

Multi-instrumentalist and singer

The biography of Vladimir Kuzmin, born in 1955, began like millions of Soviet children. A typical family (dad is a military man, mom is a teacher), after lessons - a music school. The boy became interested in the electric guitar at the age of five, and a year later composed the first song, but his parents sent him to learn to play the violin.

After school, the young man entered the railway institute, but two years later he gave up higher education and became a student at a music school in Dnepropetrovsk. There he mastered the saxophone and piano, but specialized in the flute class and achieved brilliant results. When he graduated in 1983, teachers noted his confident technique and a good "Bach" touch.

In parallel with the study of wind instruments, Kuzmin began performing as a guitarist in VIA "Nadezhda" (and tried his hand at the same place as a vocalist), then moved on to "Gems". Having given each of the famous ensembles a year, in 1979 Vladimir Kuzmin agreed with Alexander Barykin to organize the Carnival group under the wing of the Tula Philharmonic, and from 1982 to 1985 he managed to work with the Dynamik collective and took place as a demanded session musician, a welcome guest at the Melodiya studio.

1986 was a turning point for Kuzmin, because he sang the song "Two Stars" with Alla Pugacheva. He was also accepted into the "Recital", which was then accompanying the prima donna, and the young artist had previously unimaginable prospects.

Stopping cooperation with Pugacheva, in 1987 Kuzmin reassembled "Dynamic" and began a solo career, releasing the first album. From 1990 to 1992, the group successfully toured the United States and recorded two English-language discs. Upon returning to his homeland, Kuzmin continued to perform solo with his own repertoire and in 2011 achieved the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation.

Husband and father of many children

Vladimir Kuzmin seriously connected his life with several women. He registered an official marriage three times: with Tatyana Artemyeva in 1977, Kelly Curzon in 1990 and Ekaterina Trofimova in 2001. At the same time, from 1993 to 2000, Kuzmin had an actual marriage with actress Vera Sotnikova, and during his work at Recital, he had a carefully hidden romance with Alla Pugacheva.

Kuzmin has five children and one adopted (Nikita's mother is the musician's first wife). The eldest children from their first marriage - Elizaveta and Stepan - died tragically (the girl was found brutally murdered in 2002, her brother seven years later fell off the eaves, getting out of the burning apartment). Their younger sister Sophia is trying her hand at music. Iryna Miltsina and Tatiana Muingo presented illegitimate daughters Martha and Nicole Kuzmina
