Beautiful hand-made panels - wall paintings made of various materials - noticeably enliven any interior and give it a special style and comfort. The bedroom, nursery, kitchen, hallway, study and even the bathroom can be decorated with beautiful panels on the theme corresponding to the purpose of the room. Textile panels are very popular, there are many techniques in which they can be performed: patchwork, quilting, applique and others. The applique is simple to execute, but it has a lot of visual possibilities.

- - fabric for the base of the panel;
- - non-woven fabric;
- - gluey spider web;
- - bulky cushioning material;
- - sewing accessories;
- - iron.
Instructions
Step 1
Revision old clothes, bags, towels and bed linen. Surely from unnecessary things you collect a lot of valuable material to create more than one textile picture. Sort things and fabrics according to colors and shades - this way it will be easier for you to select the necessary patches for the details of the panel.
Step 2
Create a full-size sketch of the future panel on paper. It can be a plot picture on any topic (for children, kitchen, etc.) or an abstract collage of materials harmoniously selected in color and texture. Also, a panel can have an unusual shape (a train, a tree, a circle, etc.) or consist of several parts (diptych, triptych), the same or different in size, but making up a single whole.
Step 3
Choose a fabric for the base of the panel - plain or with a small pattern, suitable for the background, rather dense. Unbleached fabric, canvas, or burlap can be a good base option. Such fabric will need an amount sufficient to cut out two identical parts - the base and the seamy side of the panel (their sizes depend on your sketch).
Step 4
Take all the details of the composition from the sketched sketch onto the tracing paper and cut them out. Choose a fabric of the appropriate color for each element. For thin details, you can use cord, ribbons, braid. Make small items from beads, buttons and other unnecessary accessories.
Step 5
Cut out the same set of parts from the glue web as from the fabric. Fold the fabric parts with an adhesive spider web and place them on the base in accordance with your sketch. Iron each piece with a hot iron to adhere to the backing fabric.
Step 6
Sew the edges of the details of the pattern by hand with a decorative stitch, or with a zigzag stitch on a sewing machine. You can also create the outlines of parts by sewing along them a thin braid, cord (textile, leather or suede), thick thread.
Step 7
Some elements of the panel may not be completely sewn to the base or volumetric. Cut out such details in double quantity and sew, folding them together with the front sides. In this case, you need to leave an open hole through which the part is turned inside out. Then fill the part with padding polyester, or add another layer of cushioning material when stitching, which can give the desired volume. Sew the resulting part manually to the base of the panel in its place.
Step 8
Also sew on all the other details of the picture from accessories, fur and other materials. Sew the embroidered items. Give the composition a finished look. Where possible, iron the sewn-on parts with a damp iron or steam.
Step 9
Fold the base of the panel with its seamy detail with the front sides. Sew around the entire perimeter, leaving a small area unstitched. Unscrew the panel, straighten the edges and straighten the corners. Iron the edges of the product.
Step 10
You can process the edges of the panel in another way. Fold the base and purl with the wrong sides. Trim the edges with a ribbon of a suitable color of fabric (which would visually collect the composition) on a typewriter or by hand.
Step 11
Between the parts of the base, you can lay a bulky cushioning material and process the edges in one of the ways proposed above. Quilting the base with small hand stitches or curly machine stitches, and you get a very effective panel.
